Terms of Service
Article 1: Definitions
The purpose of this article is to define the various basic terms of the general terms of use of the National Agency for the Preservation of Deeds and Registration and Graduates.
Owner: Any natural person fully eligible, registered in the university archives, whether a student or a graduate.
Registered Formality: Agreements and conventions between individuals, free of charge or for a fee - minutes and orders for the reservation of real estate - provisions issued having the force of res judicata and whose purpose is to establish a study right, transfer it to others, recognize it, modify it, or drop it - submission contracts whose duration exceeds three years.
My Portfolio: A service for alert messages via SMS and email sent to the owner to inform them of any actions recorded on student records.
Article 2: General Conditions of Application
- Membership in the "My Contribution" service implies the member's knowledge of these terms and conditions and unconditional acceptance thereof.
- Only students can subscribe to this service.
- Members must not be minors under 18 years of age, and this service is intended for persons legally capable of entering into contracts.
- The member attests that they have the necessary authority, power, and capacity to enter into and execute the obligations stipulated in these terms and conditions.
- Members expressly acknowledge that the mentioned service does not fulfill any legal obligation on the part of Cairo University.
- The university reserves the right to modify or update the content of these terms and conditions at any time, without prior notice or agreement. Therefore, students and teachers are advised to regularly consult the latest version of the terms and conditions permanently available on the official Cairo University website.
- The university reserves the right to suspend, discontinue, or restrict access to all or part of this service, without prior notice, especially for necessary maintenance or upgrades, or for any other reason.
Article 3: Purpose of the Service
Cairo University allows the student who joins its "My Notes" service, the purpose of which is to send a message to their last mobile phone number in Egypt and their email address, to inform them of any action recorded on their file.
Article 4: Necessary Means for Using the Service
The member is responsible for choosing the necessary equipment to receive the alerts sent by Cairo and bears full responsibility for their proper functioning and their connection to the networks and compatibility with the service provided.
Article 5: Conditions for Subscribing to the "My Notes" Service
- To access the "My Notes" service, the student must first download the terms and conditions form from the official website of Cairo University.
- The teacher or student must first read the terms and conditions before completing the mentioned form with their full name in both English and Arabic, their national ID number, date and place of birth, postal address, email address, and mobile phone number.
- The concerned party must submit the cash generating unit to the nearest authority to certify their certificate, complete, date, sign, and authenticate it according to the originals with the competent authorities. It can also be submitted by someone else if it cannot be submitted in person.
- A confirmation message of subscription will be sent to the phone number and/or email address provided by the owner within 3 days from the date of submitting the mentioned form.
Article 6: Liability
6.1. Member's Liability:
- 6.1.1. The mobile phone as well as the email address is the exclusive responsibility of the member who must take all useful precautions to secure access, and therefore, they alone will bear all consequences that may result from disclosing the received alerts.
- 6.1.2. Consulting and disseminating the information provided by the "My Notes" service is the sole responsibility of the student.
- 6.1.3. The student, where applicable, must verify the accuracy of the information provided by the information protection authority.
6.2. Cairo University's Liability:
- 6.2.1. Cairo University declines full responsibility for the information sent as well as for any possible consequences, directly or indirectly, of the use of the data by the member.
- 6.2.2. The university also declines all responsibility in the event of a technical problem related to the member's equipment (mobile phone or personal computer or otherwise) or related to the university's computer system.
- 6.2.3. Cairo University sends alert messages to members prone to forgetfulness, error, or neglect.
Article 7: Duration, Re-registration, Modification, and Termination
- 7.1. Membership in the "My Portfolio" service starts from the date of submission of the student unit form to the university registration system and ends on December 31 of each year.
- 7.2. Any student continuing their studies in the transfer must re-register for the "My Notes" service as of January 1 of each year.
- 7.3. The member who wishes to change their phone number and/or email address must download a modification to the terms and conditions from the university's official website, then submit it to the nearest branch or official authority, after notifying and dating it and signing and authenticating it by the competent authorities.
- 7.4. To stop receiving alert messages, the member must submit a request to terminate the "My Notes" service to the nearest institution, signed and authenticated according to the originals by the competent authorities.
Article 8: Pricing
This "My Notes" service is provided by Cairo University free of charge until December 31, 2017.
Article 9: Protection and Security of Personal Data
- 9.1. The purpose of the personal data collected by the university is to manage the auditing and verification service. According to Law No. 08-09, you can access or correct your information or object to the processing of your data for legitimate reasons, by mail with notification of access to the following address: Directorate of Procedures and Quality Control, Abdul Rahim Bouabid Street, Tower A, Riyadh District, Cairo. This processing was subject to a prior authorization request from the Ministry of Education.
- 9.2. Cairo University undertakes not to market any information provided by the member through this service and not to disclose it to any third party, except as provided by applicable legislation.
Article 10: Complaints Handling
- 10.1. Cairo University is solely authorized to handle complaints related to the use of the "My Notes" service.
- 10.2. The member can submit any complaint related to this service through the university's official website. It will be processed, depending on its nature, by the relevant services.
Article 11: Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
- 11.1. These terms and conditions are subject to Egyptian legislation, regardless of the member's nationality.
- 11.2. In the event of a dispute, the member agrees to attempt in good faith to find an amicable solution before taking legal action.
- 11.3. The courts of Cairo have exclusive jurisdiction to settle disputes arising between the university and students and graduates.
